History

"Gunpowder Tower" is a monument of architecture of the 16th century, one of the few preserved fortifications of Lviv, which is located in the very center of the city.

The history begins on May 9, 1959. It was from that time that the Lviv House of the Architect has been a center of creative activity of the architectural community of Lviv and the region. Since its foundation, the Powder Tower has housed drawing and painting studios for children, a library, various exhibition projects, etc. Over time, the activities within the walls of the Tower have not changed their vectors, but rather have improved and expanded them.

The library premises (now the visarius) have undergone many transformations over the past 60 years, but today we have the opportunity to present to you, dear visitors, a modern and comfortable space for reflection, inspiration and research.
